Ingredients

Ingredients to make recipe.

Let’s start by gathering the ingredients we need to make my Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce recipe. In Chef Speak, this is called the Mise en Place, which translates into Everything in its Place.

Not only does setting your ingredients up ahead of time speed the cooking process, but it also helps ensure you have everything you need to make the dish.

What kind of mustard should I use?

I use regular yellow mustard to make my Chick-fil-A sauce. Some recipes call for yellow mustard and Dijon mustard, but that changes the flavor.

What kind of barbecue sauce should I use?

I love using Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce, but pretty much any brand will work. I would avoid those with added flavors, or honey, as they will change the flavor of the chick fil a sauce.

What brand of mayo should I use?

I use Hellman’s for all my recipes, but you can use your favorite mayo to make this recipe. Just be aware that non standard mayo’s can change the flavor.

Just made this to accompany the CFA chicken sandwich recipe I made. The sauce was delicious. My wife said it tasted exactly the same as the restaurant. I did back off the honey a smidge, as I was using raw honey that was on the creamy side and I didn’t want the sauce to be too sweet. Thank you Chef Dennis, for sharing this simple yet tasty recipe.

Always loved the flavor of their sauce! Glad I can finally make it at home and your version is even better for me than their version.

A terrific sauce, we had fresh baked fries with dinner and my kiddo said “move over ketchup, there’s a new sauce in town” it was very funny and true!

I’ve never been to Chick-fil-a but it was making chicken tenders the other night and looking for a dipping sauce. This one fit the bill as it was the perfect combination of sweet, savoury and spicy. It was a big hit!
