You’ll find so many uses for my creamy sriracha mayo. It goes really well with fish tacos or just about any grilled fish you enjoy eating.

Sweet potato fries with sriracha mayo.

My sriracha mayo made a delicious dipping sauce for my sweet potato fries (or regular french fries). It’s also the perfect dipping sauce for fresh veggies and adds a little zing when drizzled over sushi rolls.

Ingredients to make Sriracha Mayo

Ingredients to make recipe.

Let’s start by gathering the ingredients we need to make my homemade sriracha mayo recipe. In Chef Speak, this is called the Mise en Place, which translates into Everything in its Place.

Not only does setting your ingredients up ahead of time speed the cooking process, but it also helps ensure you have everything you need to make the dish.

Can I adapt the recipe?

It’s easy to adapt the recipe to your taste preferences. If you’re not a fan of sriracha, you can add your favorite type of hot sauce instead.

Not a fan of mayonnaise? You can use Greek yogurt, sour cream, or vegan mayo as a replacement. But it may alter the taste and texture slightly.

For a spicier sauce, add more sriracha; for a milder sauce, reduce the amount of sauce added. For a touch of sweetness, add a little honey to the sauce.

  • Add the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lemon juice, honey, and garlic powder to a small bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients together for my spicy mayo recipe until fully combined.

*Place the Sriracha mayo in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving (overnight is best).

I used my sriracha mayo on a turkey and cheese sandwich, and the spicy kick it added elevated the flavors to another level of deliciousness.

Store sriracha mayonnaise refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week.

Recipe FAQ’s

Is spicy mayo the same as sriracha mayo?

No, it’s not. Spicy mayo is made by combining mayonnaise and hot sauce. It’s a less complicated sauce but doesn’t have the flavor nuances you find in Sriracha mayonnaise.

Can I make sriracha mayo milder?

Yes, you can. You can either reduce the amount of sriracha sauce in the recipe or increase the amount of mayonnaise to reduce the spice level. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice or a little honey to balance the flavors.
