Ingredients For (Copycat) Big Mac Sauce Recipe

Ingredients to make the recipe.

Gather the ingredients to prepare our copycat Big Mac sauce recipe. Culinary professionals call this the “Mise en Place,” which means “everything in its Place.”

Setting up your ingredients not only helps speed up the cooking process but also ensures you have all the necessary ingredients on hand to make the recipe.

Can I change up the ingredients?

Sure, the great thing about this sauce is that it is easy to make into your own secret sauce. Instead of white vinegar, you could replace it with apple cider vinegar for a tangier taste, or balsamic vinegar for an international flavor.

You could chop up dill pickles to replace the sweet relish, or use a combination of both, like we do with our tartar sauce recipe. If your family isn’t pickle or relish eaters, swap out the relish and pickles and just add a tablespoon of pickle juice.

Recipe FAQS

Does the Big Mac sauce need to be refrigerated?

Yes, it does. It’s a mayonnaise-based sauce, and that means it must be kept in the refrigerator when not being used.

What is the difference between Burger Sauce and Big Mac sauce?

Big Mac sauce does not include ketchup, no matter what anyone tells you. Big Mac sauce should be an orangish color, rather than a pink color, which a burger sauce will typically have.
