Ingredients

  • 1 loaf baguette Italian or French bread
  • 8 tablespoon unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tablespoon garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian parsley finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • 2 teaspoon parmesan cheese or Locatelli cheese
  • 1 - 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese depending on how much cheese you like

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  • Add the softened butter to a mixing bowl.
  • Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, table salt, and parmesan cheese to the butter and mix until well blended.
  • Slice the loaf of Italian bread down the middle longways.
  • Spread the garlic butter over each side of the bread using a butter knife or rubber spatula.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the buttered bread.
  • Place the bread on a foil lined baking sheet butter side up.
  • Place the baking sheet on the top rack of the preheated oven and cook for 15-17 minutes until the edges of the garlic bread are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and slice into serving sizes, serve while hot.

Notes

*If making it in advance, wrap the garlic bread in foil and place it in the refrigerator until needed. Keep in mind you will want to remove it from the refrigerator 10-15 minutes prior to cooking it so it can come to room temperature.
It can also be frozen until needed.
