On our trips down the Atlantic Coast of Florida, we always passed Pompano Beach and Lisa and I kept saying we needed to stop there to see what Pompano Beach was all about!
Well as luck would have it, when I was speaking about social media at the Superior Small Lodging Conference, I met Elaine. Elaine was the owner of the Bahama Beach Club (and 4 other rental properties) in Pompano Beach. She’s got a great website where you can see all of her delicious Beach Vacation Rentals.
Elaine and I hit it off right away and as we were enjoying the festivities of the conference. I mentioned who I was and how I had been reviewing properties for Superior Small Lodging and how I loved the Old Florida feel of all the places Lisa and I had visited! She then asked the question I was waiting for, when was I coming to visit one of her properties?
I jumped at the chance and not only got to stay at one of her sweet little resorts, Elaine came by on our first day to make sure everything was alright and to give us a virtual tour of Pompano Beach. This my friends is what set Superior Small Lodging properties apart from other Florida resorts. The attention to detail that all of the properties have and the warmth and friendliness of their proprietors. When you visit one of their Old Florida properties, you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
The great thing about Elaine’s properties in Pompano Beach is that they cater to your needs as a traveler. You’ll be matched up with the resort that best suits you whether your traveling with your family, as a couple or single.
As a chef the first thing I notice is the kitchen and this kitchen was fully stocked with everything I’d need to enjoy my stay, including the cleaning supplies! You just need to stop by the local supermarket for any food and beverages you need. (when I’m on vacation I don’t cook, but its nice to have the room to enjoy my morning coffee and the fridge for the six pack)
We had a very comfortable large living room to relax in. I’ve gotten very use to having a suite rather than just having a bedroom and when they cost the same as just a bedroom in one of those large chains, it’s a no brainer.
Even though we were just a few blocks from the beach, we had our own little pool. You can’t beat a nightly swim under the stars, especially when its just steps from your room!
All of Elaine’s properties all have that Old Florida Flavor and are close to the beach! It’s all about location, and just about anything you’ll need is within walking distance, so leave your car parked and enjoy the scenery! Check them out at Beach Vacation Rentals .
If you’ve never been to Pompano Beach or its been years since your last visit, you’re in for a big surprise. There’s been a lot of renovations to the area with even more planned. You can start your day off with some Yoga in the park, right next to the beach.
Or enjoy a view of the beach while you exercise. Now that’s my idea of a sports club!
There’s a beautiful walkway down to the pier. I love the “Painted Pompano” that you can find throughout the city thanks to the Pompano Beach Art Department.
Then there’s the beach…..sigh. Miles and miles of pristine seashore with beautifully clear waters.
With palm trees and plenty of cabanas to relax in. Did I mention lately that I Love Florida?
And if it’s sunsets you’re after, there are some great dining choices on the inter-coastal waterway with spectacular views and delicious dishes. It’s a great spot to unwind after a difficult day on the beach.
So if you haven’t visited Pompano Beach yet, make sure to add it to your list of Florida Towns you have to experience. Don’t forget to call Elaine for your reservation at one of her properties, it’s easy to remember 4rentbythebeach.com .
From the Old Florida feel, to the newly renovated beach walk, delicious restaurants and the sweet downtown area, you’ll visiting My Florida.
