My Top Ten Fall Dessert Recipes
Over the course of my cooking career I have eaten and made some delicious desserts! And while every season is dessert season, there’s something special about the fall. As we begin to lose sunlight and the nights start to get cooler with that crisp clean air of fall….. to me that seems like the best time to bake! With fresh apples, pears, pumpkins and winter squash in abundance the dessert possibilities are endless!
Now that fall has come to the northeast I thought I would share some of my favorite fall desserts that I’ve enjoyed over the last few years of blogging. I hope you like them as much as Lisa and I did. Click on the name of each dessert to go to the original post and recipe.
Pumpkin Crunch Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Amethyst Cheesecake (Cranberry Blueberry Topping)
The Best Bread Pudding Recipe with Cream Cheese Frosting
Torta de Mele (Italian Apple Cake)
Caramel Butternut Squash Torte
Bourbon Pecan Pie with Chocolate Ganache
Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope enjoyed my Fall Dessert round up!

I’m a new person exploring all your delicious dishes. I love Brownies, I was wondering if you have a good chewie brownie recipe that you could share with me.
Chef Dennis Littley says
hi Jean

Laura @ Family Spice says
I think I am in love with desserts from every season, but the fall recipes are so earthy and warm. That pumpkin crunch cake is calling me!
Karen Rowland says
I made your Pumpkin Crunch recently and you weren’t exaggerating about the affect that it has on people. Your recipe should include a warning and a disclaimer! Five days after experiencing this dessert, one of the guests at the dinner party sent me a text that said they couldn’t stop thinking about my Pumpkin Cake. ..LOL TRUE STORY! It was truly one of the best desserts I’ve ever made or eaten. However, I didn’t have enough of the cream cheese frosting for the sides of the cake so I frosted the sides with a salted caramel frosting and my “crunch” burned so I sprinkled the top of the cake with roasted pecans. It was fabulous.
Chef Dennis Littley says
I guess a warning might be a good thing Karen! It does have quite an effect on people. I’m almost settled into my new home and as soon as I feel a little more comfortable in my kitchen that’s going to be the first dessert I make. I think it will be a great way to get to know my neighbors at the monthly potluck!
Pop Chef says
The pudding with cream cheese frosting looks so yummy with the creamy top. Thanks for sharing.

I love this collection of fall desserts and will make them all year round. My favorite is the Torta di Miele apple cake which you did for the guest post on my blog. Since then, I’ve baked it a thousand times and even on my travels to the Philippines, I’ve shared it with family by baking it over there. Thanks for sharing, Chef Dennis. Hope all is well with you. Happy fall season!
Chef Dennis Littley says
Thanks Betty Ann!
Hope all is well, its been madness here for me with my move and now were trying to get settled in our new home in Kissimmee. I think maybe by Thanksgiving things will be back to normal

I love your food! I made your Amethyst Cheesecake tonight. I’m having a dinner party this weekend and needed some WOW to serve. Tonight was the experiment cheesecake. You know I had to taste it before I could make it and serve to my guests. It smelled and looked so good that we couldn’t wait and ended up cutting into it before letting it set properly. Delicious and it looked almost as good as yours looks. I ended up using equal parts blueberries and cranberries. A bit tart, but I just love cranberries. Did I tell you how delicious this was. Thank you!!!!!!! I’m printing your recipe for my guests because I know several will want your delicious recipe. Did I mention how delicious is?!!
Chef Dennis Littley says
Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed my cheesecake, the cranberries are a bit tart but its the season so most won’t mind. I love the color of the mixed berries, it is one beautiful cheesecake, I hope it WOWS your guests!

You sir are evil! Lol. If I make the Caramel Butternut Squash Torte, can I consider it a serving of vegetables? Have to make the Pumpkin Crunch Cake first though. Just as soon as I have somewhere to take it!
Chef Dennis Littley says
hi Sandi
there is a good amount of squash in the torte, so I think it might qualify as a veg…lol….just don’t quote me! the pumpkin crunch is my all time favorite cake, I highly recommend it!
