This post was developed in partnership with Bayer, as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received the Aleve® Direct TherapyTM TENS Device and compensation to facilitate my review.

Throughout my life, my lower back was one of the strongest parts of my body. But as I got older my normal daily activities started to take their toll on my body, including my lower back. Having lived the better part of my life as an athlete, I understood the importance of keeping your body fit, strong and healthy. And that there are times for different types of treatments and therapies to help relieve pain and allow the body to heal.

Aleve® Direct TherapyTM

When I was contacted by the makers of  Aleve Direct Therapy   and asked to try out their new product with TENS technology I had a few questions that I needed answered before I agreed to share their product with my readers. I’m happy to say they answered all my questions and after trying the device on my back, I can recommend the Aleve Direct Therapy for the treatment of your sore and tired lower back muscles.

Aleve® Direct TherapyTM

WHAT IS A TENS DEVICE?

Since the mid-1970s, doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists have used TENS technology to treat body pain. With Aleve Direct Therapy, you can get that same technology to use at home to treat lower back pain, without a prescription.

The principle is fairly simple and comes down to the theory that electrical stimulation of the nerves can block the feeling of pain.

There are two clinical theories of how TENS can relieve pain: by blocking the transmission of pain, and by stimulating endorphins, the body’s natural pain-reducing chemicals. Aleve Direct Therapy uses patented 3-stage waveform technology to incorporate both clinical theories of TENS to provide lower back pain relief. At let me tell you that it works!

Aleve® Direct TherapyTM

Aleve Direct Therapy is a flexible, wireless TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) device specially designed for active people for the temporary relief of pain associated with sore and aching muscles in the lower back due to strain from exercise and normal household and work activities.

  • At 4.8 oz., it weighs about the same as many smartphones
  • Its easy-touch remote control has 15 adjustable power levels

In today’s active world we all try to do too much in too short of a time and that usually results in muscle strain. I don’t always want to be reaching for a pill bottle and that’s where Aleve Direct Therapy can help. I know I’ll be using it on a regular basis.

It Provides Relief You Can Feel

Aleve Direct Therapy TENS Device to relieve your sore & aching muscles

Aleve Direct Therapy is a drug-free TENS device (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) that can deliver deep, penetrating relief from your lower back pain.

Stage 1

5 MINS High-frequency stimulation (sometimes described as a strong tingling sensation) can initiate the feeling of pain relief by suppressing the transmission of pain signals from nerves. Find your preferred intensity level with the wireless remote control.

Stage 2

20 MINS Low-frequency stimulation in this stage feels like a gentle tapping sensation. This stimulates an increased endorphin release to reduce the sensitivity to pain beyond the 30-minute session.

Stage 3

Like stage 1, this high-frequency stimulation helps maintain the feeling of pain relief to complete the session.

Treatment may be repeated throughout the day as needed with 30-minute breaks between sessions

I thought when I retired I’d just be sitting under the palm trees sipping margaritas but it seems like I’ve even busier now that when I worked full time. Between my blog, going to the gym, grocery shopping and driving around Florida on our weekend adventures, I’m more active now than ever.

Everyone has their daily routines most even busier than mine, and the last thing you want or need is for back pain to slow you up. Aleve, is a trusted name in pain management and with their introduction of the Aleve Direct Therapy  TENS Device, lower back pain relief comes with a simple touch of a button.
